It was at the beginning of the last decade when we had to wait in front of STD telephone booths for hours to make a phone call. After a long trial, we could hardly able to contact our dearest. It was very difficult to connect any number in interior areas from Delhi. Frequently we heard the following words, "all lines in this routes are busy, please dial after some time." We then heard the slogan from Dhirubhai Ambani, roti-kapra-makan-phone. We thought how will it be possible to get a phone without any makan because we had to frequently visit MTNL or BSNL office to get a land line connection!
