Fatwa against Singer is Unacceptable

Young singer Nahid Afrin against whom over 40 clerics from Muslim organizations issued fatwa is unacceptable. Clerics for the publicity stunt bringing fatwa to an innocent singer.

If clerics want to issue fatwa, they need to issue fatwa against the individual who are trading and consuming alcohol and involve in family violence. They need to issue fatwa against the individual who are not taking care to their parents at their old age; issue fatwa against those individual who are not sending their children to school and providing education; issue fatwa against those individual who are practicing polygamy but not equally doing justice to wives; issue fatwa against those individual who are breaking marriage pronouncing triple talaq through phone; issue fatwa against those individual who are taking bribe; taking interest by lending money to the needy people; involve in robbery, cheating, fraudulent; issue fatwa against those who are in the name of religion killing thousands of innocent life; issue fatwa against those who are taking huge dowry and killing girl fetus.

There is no difference between Taliban and these clerics. Taliban tried to kill Malala Yousafazai as she tried to spread education among Muslim girls. These clerics are issuing fatwa against the girl or artist who is the messenger of peace. In a democracy, there should equal opportunity to everyone irrespective to caste, religion, and sex. So clerics should refrain from issuing fatwa which contradict our fundamental and constitutional right in a democracy.
